Being prepared for your appointment and asking the right questions is a great way to stay involved in your health care. In advance of your chiropractic appointment, find out if previous test results, such as X-rays, are needed. You may be able to bring these with you or help coordinate getting this information with your Chiropractor.

Prepare for your appointment by writing your questions down. Answers to your questions can help you to make informed decisions about treatment.

Questions to ask the Chiropractor.

  • What are your qualifications? Knowing the training and background of the chiropractor is important.

  • Do you practice a specialty that is related to my condition?

  • Do you commonly treat my condition?

  • What type of diagnostic testing is needed?

  • Will you need to take x-rays?

  • How can chiropractic care help me?

  • How many times must I come for an adjustment? The Chiropractor should be able to provide you with a rough idea of pain relief and corrective care

  • How do I get the most out of my adjustment?

  • How long does each session last?

  • Should I have a massage first?

  • Will I need care from other healthcare professionals?
