Meet Danielle Willis - Chiropodist

Danielle Willis

Chiropodist

Welcome to our practice! I am proud to have been a member of the Ontario College of Chiropodists since 1999.

My interest in health care began at a young age as I grew up with a brother who has had Type 1 diabetes since the age of 2. This life experience instilled in me the delicate balance that must be constantly achieved in the human body for good health.

I graduated with honours from McMaster University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Unclear about which health care discipline to pursue, I continued to take University Science courses part time and work part time in the Operating Room and Neurology Department at the Oakville Hospital.

In 1996 I began my Chiropody studies at the Michener Institute of Education at the University Health Network (Toronto).

I continued to work at the hospital throughout my time at the Michener and also took on a tutoring position in the school’s anatomy lab.

After graduating in 1999, I joined multidisciplinary clinics in both Hamilton and Oakville. I left my Oakville location in 2001 after the birth of my oldest son but continued to grow my Hamilton practice. Although the location has changed through the years (from King St, to a medical practice on Centennial Pkwy to our current location at 910 Queenston Rd. I continue to care for some of the very same patients that I treated in my first days of practice in 1999!

Outside of the office, I have done public speaking on behalf of the Juvenile Diabetes Association, drawing on both my personal and professional experiences. It has always been a priority for me to support and promote my unique profession, and as such, I have remained a full member of the Ontario Society of Chiropodists (Provincial Association) since my days as a student.

I have also remained a member of the Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine (National Association) since its inception in 1999. It is through these organizations, as well as some similar associations, that most of my annual continuing education and professional development is completed.

I have sincerely found my 16+ years of professional practice inspiring and rewarding. It has been, and continues to be a privilege to be trusted with achieving good foot health for so many!
