What We Offer at Our Clinic

Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy can provide you relief from lower back pain, tension, stiffness and get you back on your feet.

As we go about our daily lives, our muscles and joints often become stiff. Sometimes reacting to sitting on a chair all day or sometimes a reaction to overuse. Massage therapy can prevent the body from over-reaction to the stress of everyday life.

Massage therapy helps to provide relief to the muscles and other soft tissues that are often reacting to a strain. Stress can come in the form of physical stress or other tension of the body from anxiety and other occupational stresses.

Our Massage Therapist, Brent Ellis, RMT is available to discuss your needs.

Diabetic Foot Care

Diabetes can cause nerve damage and poor blood flow or circulation to the legs and feet. As a result, people with diabetes are less likely to feel a foot injury, such as a blister or cut. Diabetes can make these injuries more difficult to heal. Unnoticed and untreated, even small foot injuries can quickly become infected, potentially leading to serious complications. Our chiropodist, Danielle Willis, has years of experience helping patients with diligent foot care and proper education. She provides complete assessments, including checking for wounds and cuts, sources of infection, and blood circulation through the feet. She also teaches patients how diabetes specifically affects the feet and how to care for them.

Custom Orthotics

Custom foot orthotics are shoe inserts prescribed by chiropodists to change the body’s biomechanics when performing activities such as running or walking. Before prescribing orthotics, a chiropodist observes how the patient walks. Based on the gait analysis, the chiropodist will design the orthotic to help correct the patient’s motion and alleviate any other concerns such as the formation of callouses and corns.

Chiropodists and Podiatrists are the only regulated health professionals in Ontario with a legislated scope of practice for orthotic provision. This ensures that anyone who receives orthotic management by a Chiropodist or Podiatrist can be assured that they are receiving thorough, competent and safe care.

Plantar Wart Removal

Plantar Warts are painful bumps on the soles of the feet caused by a virus. Besides shaving off the wart itself, the underlying root must be destroyed to prevent the wart from recurring and spreading. A chemical is applied to the root with a cotton swab. The number of applications and visits required for permanent removal depends on the severity of the wart or cluster of warts.

Relief from Sports Injury

Many amateur and professional athletes use chiropractic treatment as part of their overall health care, fitness and maintenance program. Chiropractic is often used to improve muscle and joint conditions, which have a direct effect on athletic performance.

Sports massages can alleviate the pain and swelling incurred in an injury. They can also serve to optimize performance by stimulating healthy blood flow and warming up muscles.

Physiotherapists also play an important role in health promotion and disease prevention. Physiotherapy is the treatment of preference for many who suffer from back, neck or joint pain and hips, knees, ankles, wrists, elbows or shoulders.

Physiotherapists help people increase physical activity in their lives.

Toenail Removal

A damaged or ingrown toenail can cause extreme pain and infection in the toe. Although infections can be fought using antibiotics, the problem will reoccur if the problematic toenail is not corrected. In some cases, toenail surgery may be necessary.

In a Partial Nail Avulsion, the chiropodist removes part of the affected toenail on one or both sides. In a Total Nail Avulsion, the entire toenail is removed. The chiropodist then uses medications to prevent regrowth of the toenail. All ingrown toenail surgeries are performed with a local anaesthetic.
