Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy can provide you relief from lower back pain, tension, stiffness and just too much time on your feet.

As we go about our daily lives, our muscles and joints often become stiff. Sometimes resulting in aches and pains which can then lead to a reduction in exercise. Massage Therapy can prevent this cycle from occurring due to the stress of everyday life.
Massage therapy helps to provide relief to the muscles and other soft tissues that are often reacting to stress. Stress can come in the form of physical stress or other tensions of the body from posture and other occupational stresses.
Our Massage Therapist, Drew Ellis, RMT is available to discuss your needs.
Acupuncture
There are a variety of reasons to consider acupuncture. It is a holistic way to detoxify the body, treat disorders and disease and aid in various types of discomfort within the body. This remarkable thing about acupuncture treatment is that it is believed to help patients recover faster. Acupuncture therapy is known to revitalize the body and naturally improve function.
Many people make use of this alternative therapy to manage stress levels and improve blood circulation in their body. Acupuncture is known to prevent particular ailments from becoming acute and severe. Apart from these health benefits, acupuncture has been proven effective as a therapy to treat problems such as headaches, migraines, arthritis, weight reduction, women's health issues, addiction, substance abuse, inflammation and pain.
Diabetic Foot Care
Diabetes can cause nerve damage and poor blood flow or circulation to the legs and feet. As a result, people with diabetes are less likely to feel a foot injury, such as a blister or cut. Diabetes can make these injuries more difficult to heal. If not noticed and untreated, even small foot injuries can quickly become infected, potentially leading to serious complications. Our chiropodist, Rui de-Sá, D.Ch., has years of experience helping patients with efficient foot care and proper education. She provides complete assessments, including checking for sensation and cuts, any sign of infection, and blood circulation through the foot. She also teaches patients with diabetes specifically about the feet and how to care for them.
Custom Orthotics
Custom foot orthotics are shoe inserts prescribed by an expert to change the foot's biomechanics when performing activities such as running or walking. With examining orthotics, a thorough assessment from the patient while standing to the gait analysis, the chiropodist will design the orthotic to help correct the patient's motion and alleviate any other problems such as the formation of calluses and corns.
Chiropodists and Podiatrists are the only registered health professionals in Ontario with a legislated scope of practice for orthotic provision. This ensures that anyone who requires orthotic management by a chiropodist or podiatrist can be assured that they are receiving thorough, competent and safe care.

Shockwave Therapy

EMS Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive solution for musculoskeletal pain. The shockwave is an acoustic therapy used in physiotherapy, orthopaedics and sports medicine. Applications are mostly associated with the treatment of chronic muscular and tendon disorders, back and cervical pain. Most common indications include painful shoulder, epicondylitis, low back pain, Achilles tendon pain, patellar tendonitis and trigger points.
Plantar Wart Removal
Plantar warts are painful bumps on the soles of the feet caused by a virus. Besides treating the wart itself, the underlying root must be destroyed to prevent the wart from recurring and spreading. A chiropodist applies to the root with a topical treatment. The number of applications and visits required for permanent removal depends on the severity of the wart or cluster of warts.

Relief from Sports Injury

Many amateur and professional athletes use chiropractic treatment as part of their overall health, fitness and maintenance program. Chiropractic is often used to improve muscle and joint conditions, which have a direct effect on athletic performance.
Sports massages can alleviate the pain and swelling involved in an injury. They can also serve to optimize performance by stimulating healthy blood flow and warming up muscles.
Low Level Therapy - Theralase
Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is used to reduce pain and treat various conditions such as plantar fasciitis, arthritis and muscle inflammation. At our clinic we use Theralase which is designed to deliver low-power doses of energy to areas of the body affected by injury.

Toenail Removal

A damaged or ingrown toenail can cause extreme pain and infection in the toe. Although infections can be fought using antibiotics, the problem will recur if the problematic toenail is not corrected. In some cases, partial surgery may be necessary.

In a Partial Nail Avulsion, the chiropodist removes part of the affected toenail on one or both sides. In a Total Nail Avulsion, the entire toenail is removed. The chiropodist then uses medical acid to prevent regrowth of the toenail. All ingrown toenail surgeries are performed with a local anaesthetic.
